Call to improve methods of engaging with young people in Belarus

RECHITSA, 8 August (BelTA) – Forms and methods of reaching out to young people should constantly improve, Head of the Belarus President Administration Natalya Kochanova said at a seminar held in Rechitsa on 8 August to discuss the contribution of government bodies and organizations to the implementation of the national youth policy, BelTA has learned.

Natalya Kochanova noted that the seminar had become a venue to talk over the tasks and instructions on the youth policy put forward by the head of state at the 5th All-Belarusian People's Assembly, the National Teachers' Congress, other events and meetings. The forum also aims to consider issues that need to be addressed. “This is an opportunity to exchange the available experience and opinions on what still needs to be done, perhaps at the legislative level,” added Natalya Kochanova. She set an example of the proposal voiced at a recent congress of the BRSM Youth Union. The proposal is about increasing the youth age as life expectancy is gradually rising.

The participants of the forum also discussed vocational guidance of senior school students, education and employment, patriotic education of young people.

The seminar brought together representatives of Minsk and other regions of the country. Ahead of the seminar the participants of the forum got familiar with various activities with children and youth conducted by organizations of Rechitsa District.
